Just a quick little note before we continue.

For the first two minutes of A New Hope, I was using the standard Disney+ Special Edition as reference. However, this morning I remembered that the Special Edition is terrible, and in particular it has several minutes of CGI garbage that I really don’t think I’d enjoy writing about.

So from now on, I’ll be writing about — and using screenshots from — the unofficial 4k77 Project, a.k.a the real, unadulterated version of A New Hope that was originally shown in 1977. This will result in a few less posts and slightly better screenshots, but ultimately it won’t change much else.
